GCC Stock Market Indices - Live Gulf Exchange Data

This dataset tracks live index levels and percentage change for the four major Gulf equity markets: Saudi Tadawul (TASI), Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX General Index), Dubai Financial Market (DFM General Index), and Qatar Exchange. Each row includes the official market-point timestamp and the Masadir ingestion timestamp so analysts and developers always know exactly when the data was recorded and when it was stored. This is the only structured API dataset covering all four GCC exchanges in a single unified endpoint.

About these markets

Saudi Tadawul (TASI)

The Saudi Exchange is the largest stock market in the Arab world and one of the top 10 exchanges globally by market capitalization. The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) tracks all listed companies and is a primary indicator of Saudi economic sentiment and Vision 2030 progress.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX)

The ADX General Index covers companies listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, including major energy, banking, and real estate firms. ADX has grown significantly following the listings of several large Abu Dhabi state-linked entities.

The DFM General Index tracks equities listed on the Dubai Financial Market. DFM is a key barometer for Dubai's real estate, banking, and logistics sectors and attracts significant regional and international investor participation.

Qatar Exchange (QSE)

The Qatar Stock Exchange index reflects the performance of listed companies in one of the world's largest LNG exporters. Qatar Exchange is closely watched by energy investors and sovereign wealth fund analysts tracking GCC capital flows.

FAQ

Which Gulf stock exchanges are covered in this dataset?

This dataset covers four major GCC equity markets: Saudi Tadawul (TASI), the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX General Index), the Dubai Financial Market (DFM General Index), and Qatar Exchange. Together these four exchanges represent the core of Gulf capital markets and the majority of GCC equity market capitalization.

How often is the GCC indices data updated?

The dataset refreshes from Masadir's market data pipeline throughout the trading day. Each row shows two timestamps: the Market Timestamp, which reflects the official market-point time from the data provider, and the Ingested At timestamp, which shows when Masadir stored that specific reading. Check both timestamps to understand data freshness.

Can I access GCC market index data via the Masadir API?

Yes. GCC market indices are available through Masadir's API in structured JSON format, including index level, percentage change, market timestamp, and ingestion timestamp for each exchange. See the Pricing page for plan details and rate limits.

What is the TASI index?

TASI stands for Tadawul All Share Index - the benchmark index of the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), the largest stock market in the Arab world. It tracks all listed companies across sectors including energy, banking, petrochemicals, and real estate. TASI is widely used as the primary indicator of Saudi equity market performance.

Why do Gulf market timestamps sometimes show a date earlier than today?

GCC markets operate Sunday through Thursday, following the Islamic working week. If today is a Friday, Saturday, or a public holiday, the most recent market timestamp will reflect the last trading session. The Ingested At timestamp shows when Masadir last stored the data row, which may differ from the market close time.

Is this the same data as the official exchange feeds?

This dataset aggregates publicly available market data and is not a licensed direct feed from Saudi Exchange, ADX, DFM, or Qatar Exchange. It is suitable for informational reference, macro analysis, and application development. For official licensed market data feeds, contact the relevant exchange directly.

Will Masadir add more GCC markets in future?

The current dataset covers the four largest Gulf equity markets. Additional markets - including Kuwait Stock Exchange (Boursa Kuwait), Bahrain Bourse, and Muscat Stock Exchange - are being evaluated for future phases. The dataset page will update as new markets are added.
